Managing the myriad symptoms of bipolar disorder requires a clear therapy plan and positive, consistent support. I provide individual counseling for adults using multiple approaches that have been proven effective for stabilizing moods and improving relationships, including Interpersonal and Social Rhythm Therapy (IPSRT), Mindfulness-Based Cognitive Therapy (MBCT), Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), and Somatic Therapy approaches.

I will help you to identify the signs of coming mood changes as well as possible triggers to those mood episodes, develop a holistic self-care plan to reduce overall stress and increase the kind of supports that work for you, and put into practice effective coping skills that address your specific symptoms. The goal with your wellness plan is to create more stability by decreasing the frequency and intensity of mood episodes, and increasing your knowledge, and self-confidence. Maybe your life is moving along with manageable mood swings at times, and you really want to know how to keep it that way. I will support you to develop and implement your plan, and stick to it with my compassionate, directive, and supportive guidance.

Learn to love yourself and create meaningful healthy and happy relationships.

We can also address the negative impact that living with bipolar disorder may have on your self-identity and your relationships. Through gentle and informative exploration, we will address self-doubts and underlying beliefs that may sabotage your self-esteem, goals, and abilities. We will explore if internalized stigma is setting you up for self-blame and shame. With new perspectives and increased insight, you will transform negative patterns and self-limiting assumptions into a more authentic, stable, and meaningful life.

At your request and with your authorization, I will collaborate with your psychiatrist, primary care physician, support persons or other outside resources in order to provide you with better continuity of care.
